I caught onto that metaphor as dad used it when talking around mom. I now think of blogs using that, shall we say, terminology. Repeatedly, I’ve told people that these words are not always put-downs.
I’ll keep saying that to “pitch shit” was hard work on the ranch. Our motives back then were different, since it not only cleaned up, smoothed out and took slippage out of the day, it also greened up the fields and mom’s garden.
Nothing in the Washington Post’s “Ways that urbanites can turn the waste into compost” is new where I grew up. For that matter, it’s ancient and “spread” around the world. So then, urbanites, get your shit together and green things up like I learned to do.
